Sunreef Yachts Announces Spectacular Presence at the Cannes International Boat Show 2013

Established in 2002 by Francis Lapp, Sunreef Yachts has consequently grown to its current, strong position of the leading designer and builder of luxury sailing and power catamarans and catamaran-superyachts from 60 to 200 feet in the world.

In 2013 Sunreef Yachts will have no less than 6 yachts, the first ever such important Sunreef yachts gathering, on display with 2 world premieres: the superyacht Sunreef 80 Sailing LEVANTE and a new concept of a sailing catamaran, Sunreef 60 LOFT.

The new Sunreef 80 Sailing is a concept based on light displacement, performance and speed. Commissioned by a European owner, the Sunreef 80 is made of an advanced composite sandwich combining vinylester, PVC foam and carbon/glass fibre, with a carbon mast and boom, standing rigging with Kevlar and total sail area of 340 m², weighing just 45T lightship and 60T fully loaded. The sleek and sporty exterior line was designed carefully to reduce windage and water resistance.

The 2nd world premiere is the new concept of 60 footer, the Sunreef 60 LOFT, a ready- to- sail, luxury yacht with comfortable accommodation for 6 guests. Fully equipped open galley with both Siemens and Gorenje appliances is located in the portside hull, directly connected with the saloon. The cockpit and the saloon are both located on the same level and connected with a large sliding door which enhances the impression of one, seamless space. Actually two units of this new concept have already been sold, only two months after its presentation in spring this year.

In addition, the shipyard will exhibit its first poweryacht, the 60 Sunreef Power LILU YACHT equipped with the innovative IPS system allowing this imposing yacht easy maneuvering in tide marinas and side docking. Moreover, the system helps to be even more efficient on the fuel consumption side and increases maximum speed adding 2 knots.

Fourth yacht on display was launched in April 2013. The Sunreef 70 MAVERICK is the 12th unit of an extremely popular Sunreef 70 Sailing. Distinctively different, this superb modern catamaran features an ultra-sleek profile, flawless interior design, exceptional amenities, and the latest in entertainment technology.

Another big presence will be ensured by the superyacht HOUBARA. The Sunreef 82 Double Deck will be again the biggest unit on Sunreef Yachts display this year. Presented last year in Cannes, HOUBARA accommodates up to 7 guests in one beam-wide owner suite, one VIP queen cabin and one guest twin cabin convertible to a double cabin with an additional Pullman bed, attended by two crew.

On the power side, besides the 60 Sunreef Power, Sunreef will showcase again its extremely popular 70 Sunreef introduced in 2008. This yacht model attracts many motoryacht enthusiasts thanks to its stability and subsequently the comfort in cruising, an extended living and storage space thanks to its large beam, superb exterior space, and oceanic range combined with very low fuel consumption and all that in keeping with Sunreef’s customized design.

Both of them MAVERICK and LEVANTE are available for charters with Sunreef Yachts Charter.

The shipyard will also introduce more its new projects underway, the 90 Sunreef Power, the Trimaran 210 and the new sailing superyacht of 165ft.

SUNREEF INTRODUCES THE INNOVATIVE IPS SYSTEM

In 2013 Sunreef Yachts has done something rather extraordinary from an engineering Stand point.

Together with VOLVO engineers, the company's in-house engineering department has developed an innovative IPS system installed on the new 60 Sunreef Power LILU-YACHT . IPS systems make maneuvering of the boat much easier with the possibility of side cruising and easy turning just with one joystick. Despite being widely used on regular motoryachts, they are very uncommon on catamarans, especially large-sized yachts in which the shipyard specializes in.

The shipyard decided not to build a completely new hull, dedicated for IPS propulsion, but to modify the existing hull of the 60 Sunreef Power model. There were several challenges associated with arranging placement for IPS units in the engine rooms and with the correct positioning of IPS units in relation to water level and hull position. This task is rather simple for wide monohulls but requires much more planning on catamaran narrower aft sections. The research resulted in success and the positive results have even surpassed the owner and Sunreef/Volvo engineers’ expectations.

The shipyard is already considering some further improvements on the hull shape that could allow for closer turns hence giving better maneuverability in very small spaces, like crowded marinas. The IPS system will be therefore offered on all power catamarans available at Sunreef Yachts.

The engineering department is already working on the new motoryacht model, the 90 Sunreef Power and doing a lot of hull optimization calculations to enhance the performance, motion at sea and savings on fuel. The hull had originally been forcast with a standard shaft line. The company is now working on the IPS version of this boat so that 2 propulsion systems can be available on the same hull shape, according to the demand. Sunreef Yachts keeps working closely with Volvo to foresee the further development on their IPS range for that size of Superyacht catamarans. With this system on our super catamarans, Sunreef Yachts has opened a new chapter in nautical engineering.

SUNREEF 60 FT - A NEW CONCEPT OF PRET-A-PORTER LUXURY YACHT

Sunreef Yachts is delighted to unveil a new concept being a result of the company’s long experience in luxury yacht building – the Sunreef 60 LOFT . The shipyard, always reactive on the Clients feedback, has decided to meet their requirements and create a luxury ‘pret-a-porter’ yacht based on the 10 years’ experience, extensive knowledge and understanding of the owners’ needs and containing all the essential options and equipment for comfortable sailing and living on board. Therefore, Clients are now fully served and receive a “ready- to- go”, fully equipped vessel. The model has all the features of the Sunreef catamarans - impeccable quality of the construction, customized luxury finish and high seaworthiness –converted into a compact and light vessel.

The Sunreef 60 LOFT will be a ready- to- sail, luxury, performance-oriented yacht with comfortable accommodation for 6 guests in 3 spacious cabins and 2 crew in the port aft cabin, accessible through the galley located within this hull for easy crew circulation.

The interior space arrangement is both elegant and functional. Fully equipped open galley with both Siemens and Gorenje appliances is located in the portside hull, directly connected with the saloon. The cockpit and the saloon are both located on the same level and connected with a large sliding door which enhances the impression of one, seamless space. Waterproof speakers, connected to the salon B&O system, both in the cockpit and on the flybridge will allow guests to enjoy music everywhere on board.

As for the interior design, Sunreef's in-house design has prepared three unique contemporary designs resulting from their expertise of the tendencies on the market, from which the clients can choose their preferred style– trendy black & white, soothing venge & anegre or timeless walnut.

The yacht’s technologic features include carbon mast with canoe boom, square top main sail and Brunton’s folding propellers, the best ones available on the market. She is also extremely easy to handle even for two crew members thanks to the sailing gear smartly placed within a reach of the hand on the flybridge with electric winches, two Yanmar 110 HP engines and original davits system to launch the dinghy from the aft platform. As a ready-to-go vessel, all electrical, plumbing, hydraulic systems are also included within the fixed price.

SUNREEF IN ASIA AND THE HAINAN RENDEZ VOUS

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in all splendor at 2012 Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes, the SUNREEF YACHTS shipyard is quickly spreading wings all over the world. Headquartered in Poland, with a US office in Fort Lauderdale and a newly appointed China office in Shanghai give the company the possibility to assist clients in Europe, the Americas and Asia. After having ensured a consistent promotion in Europe and the US, the company has now decided to take a closer look into Asia and China in particular. SUNREEF YACHTS China, managed by Sunreef’s Ewa Stachurska, former PR and now Sales Director in China, operates already from Shanghai and supervise all Marketing and Sales in China and Hong Kong.

The Chinese division will take part at the incoming Hainan Rendezvous in Sanya in March 2013, at the China International Boat Show in Shanghai in April 2013 and the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show in May 2013. All these shows except the Shanghai one will include the presentation of the new Sunreef 70 Sail FENG sold to a Chinese Client and scheduled for delivery in March 2013 after which it will be exhibited as a worldwide premiere at the HRDV 2013 in Sanya.

This superb, blood-red hulled luxury catamaran enchants with its subtle oriental interior design and a great performance in sailing, keeping with the spaciousness and stability of a catamaran. Sea trials and private events will be organized to help understand this still blossoming yachting market, the full potential for a catamaran-yacht. Furthermore, power catamarans range with the new 60 Sunreef Power and the successful 70 Sunreef Power will be another interesting product for the market where power boating still overwhelmingly exceeds sailing.

After a decade of a successful development in the world, especially in Europe and the Americas, the company judged necessary further expansion and this time towards Asia with a special stress on China and its immense potential. Certainly, this market is still immature and yachting is perceived more as a business-related activity helping to maintain professional relationships than pure pleasure or a hobby but it will pick up one day, and on that day Sunreef Yachts wants to make sure that all interested newly emerged enthusiasts will know what fantastic yachts the company has to offer. We can already observe an increasing interest in catamarans, and a curiosity towards a catamaran-yacht. Since the opening of the office, we have been receiving many inquiries about our yachts from potential clients, media and brokers. The actual presence in China brings an immediate increase of interest, Stachurska says.

Sunreef Yachts China office is located within most exclusive plaza in the central Shanghai, Puxi, the Plaza 66.

NEW 85 SUNREEF POWER

SunreefYachts Sets Another Milestone in Power Catamaran Design with the New 85 Sunreef Power

26September 2012, Gdansk, Poland

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012, Sunreef Yachts continues growing in the catamaran design sector. Its in-house design office, employing young and talented designers, is located within the shipyard to make the design process smoother and more efficient.

Following the introduction of the successful 70 Sunreef Power in 2008, and the launch of the 60 Sunreef Power in July 2012, the company is now introducing a brand new concept of a power catamaran with the 85 Sunreef Power, being another milestone in luxury catamaran design.
The main idea behind the concept is to stress the superb space offered by catamarans thanks to their large beam, and to arrange this space in a similar way to motoryachts. This means a single large main deck spanning the entire beam, housing dining and lounging areas in both the exterior aft deck and inside the saloon to create a seamless, open space. The generously-sized master cabin is located in the front on the same level. The flybridge will include the helm station and two lounge areas (inside and outside), while the intimate terrace at the front of the main deck will comprise a jet ski with its crane and sun pads. Guest cabins with private bathrooms and crew quarters with direct access to the galley and storage will be located within the hulls.

This space arrangement is certain to please demanding motoryacht clientele who will now be able to enjoy their favourite motoryacht design and layout combined with catamaran advantages such as stability, extensive living and storage space, comfort of cruising, low draught, low fuel consumption, and oceanic range.
Design-wise, the 85 Sunreef Power is a modern-looking, streamlined vessel with a curvy line that makes her look like a truly sporty motoryacht. The interior design is light and minimalist with modular furniture on the main deck and the flybridge allowing many configurations, and built-in furniture to be installed within the hulls only. The interior finish and layout come fully customized as on all Sunreef yachts. Wide deck windows will let in plenty of natural light, while the glass elements will fit in perfectly into the modern design.

The 85 Sunreef Power’s main deck includes a spacious aft deck with a dining area and lounge with sofas, Jacuzzi and sun pads for 10 guests. It also provides private access to the crew quarters located in the starboard hull, and to the captain’s cabin located aft in the port hull. The main doors lead to an open saloon including a bar, dining area and rest area with sofas, cocktail table and armchairs, as well as a state-of-the-art entertainment system. The area also features two side folding balconies and day head. The owner suite with its private bathroom is located further to the front, with an office area and walk-in wardrobe in front of the beautifully located king size bed providing superb sea views. The saloon also provides direct access to the flybridge via a centrally-positioned glass staircase, and to each hull via two staircases located on the sides.

The walk-around flybridge comprises enclosed and open spaces allowing guests to enjoy superb panoramic views in all weather conditions. The internal space includes a fully equipped helm station and a private lounge area, featuring a glass ceiling to let in more light and create the impression of space. The exterior part houses a dining area and sun pads. In addition, the space in front of the outside helm station will be used as a front terrace.
A beach club platform, typical of motoryachts, has been created on the aft. The platform will allow guests to be close to sea level at anchor and low speeds, and provides easy access to all water toys and tender stored in the aft dinghy garage. As a result, alongside the aft cockpit, the flybridge and the two front terraces, the 85 Sunreef Power offers 5 exterior decks for guests to enjoy the sun and spend time outside.

The starboard aft and midship hull comprises crew quarters accessible from the cockpit, featuring crew cabins, laundry, galley and mess room. A double guest cabin is located in the front section. The portside hull houses the captain’s cabin and two guest cabins. All cabins have en-suite bathrooms and extensive storage. Guests and crew mingle easily thanks to private access via the cockpit and a smart space arrangement in the hulls.
The project has already received serious enquiries, with the first contract expected to be signed within the next 3 months. Sunreef Yachts is presenting motoryacht lovers with an alternative solution to exclusive yachting with reasonable fuel consumption.

SUNREEF SUCCESS BY THE NUMBERS

I went on Sunreef website and counted the luxury catamarans launched by size since the founding of the yard.

Here are the results :
  • Sunreef 58 : 3
  • 60 Sunreef Power : 1 just launched
  • Sunreef 62 : 27 most successful so far
  • Sunreef 70 : 8
  • 70 Sunreef Power : 7
  • Sunreef 74 : 1
  • Sunreef 82 : 1 just launched
  • Sunreef 102 : 1
  • Sunreef 114 : 1
To those, you have to add 4 units that were kept secret to the owners request.  It is kind of odd to add the numbers since a Sunreef 58 is really much smaller than a Sunreef 114 but if you do it adds up to 54 catamarans which is a lot since the first in 2003.  But the most impressive is the size of the catamarans which has really increased.

Congratulations to their team.

FIRE AT SUNREEF SHIPYARD - REACTIVATION

After a fire in one of the production halls at the Sunreef Yachts shipyard in the evening on 19 January 2012, the company has already started rebuilding lost units.
Some yachts under construction have been destroyed but the key moulds have been saved which together with the determination and increased commitment of all the workers will help minimise delays in the construction process.

The shipyard has already begun adapting another production hall and moved the moulds to the new site. The production will be recommenced on Monday, 23 January. Francis Lapp, President of Sunreef Yachts, assures that all their employees will have a lot of work within the next few days. “We will even need to increase our production capacity to rebuild the lost units and start works for the recently signed contracts”. The shipyard will maintain all their previous contracts. The delay in delivery due to this unfortunate force majeure will not exceed 3 months.

“After so many tokens of support from our Clients, yacht owners, suppliers and many other friends of the Sunreef Yachts shipyard, we are highly motivated to action”, ensures Francis Lapp.

The shipyard continues its development strategy and will exhibit as always at all major boat shows and organise its prestigious events as usual. New Sunreef Yachts models will be shown at the 2012 Cannes International Boat Show according to plan.

Sunreef Yachts Introduces New Concept, The Sunreef 75, To The Ultimate Range

In 2010 Sunreef Yachts has launched a new range of performing fast cruisers ranging from 70 to 170 feet. The shipyard is now introducing a new addition to this range - a sophisticated design for an ultra-modern, high-performance sailing catamaran, the Sunreef 75 Ultimate.

It is the proud successor to the Sunreef 80 Ultimate, which has provided the basis for further upgrades and improvements resulting in the creation of the 75 footer. Renowned for its innovative projects, Sunreef explores the worlds of sport, powerful emotions and adventure.

The Sunreef 75 Ultimate carbon fibre yacht has thin and sleek marine hulls with a reversed bow and integrated stepped hull chins, essential for the yacht's high performance. The superstructure will be shorter and more minimalist than onconventional leisure catamarans, which will add to the boat's lightweight and streamlined look. The flybridge is beautifully integrated in the superstructure and will be large enough to feature the main helm station and relaxation area. Both hulls will be covered with uncut teak and the forward section of the superstructure will be covered with glass panels, making the vessel luminous and providing the guests with breathtaking views.

The hulls and back section of the superstructure will be left pure white and thus create a trendy modern balance with black and white colours. An additional option for the hull are solar panels, providing the yacht with natural solar energy that can be connected to the water heating system. Two vertical retractable wind generators will also be installed on each hull. The mast will be moved back to the centre of the boat helping to achieve the optimal balance, thus creating the ultimate navigation comfort. The sail plan is calculated to reach top speeds of 20+ knots. As for the propulsion system, Sunreef's engineering office is currently working on hybrid and further electric propulsion for this and other units.
Internal space will depend on the Client's preferences, following Sunreef’s custom finish philosophy. Two options are available: leaving the saloon as an open, undivided space, or fitting it with the galley, dining area and lounge. In both scenarios, the owner suite will be located on the main level in the forward section.

SUNREEF POWER 70 "DAMRAK II" MAIDEN CRUISE IN SCANDINAVIA

DAMRAK II’s Maiden Voyage in Scandinavia. One week in heaven.

After her launch in Gdańsk, Poland in May 2011, the 70 Sunreef Power Damrak II has departed for her maiden voyage to Scandinavia with the owners Olivier and Katia, their 2 year old daughter Anna, and a couple of their friends, Marcus and Mia. They were accompanied by three crew members : Joc, Shaz and Stephanie. They wanted to explore the untouched beauty of Nordic landscapes before heading to the Mediterranean for the summer.

DEPARTURE FROM DENMARK

The boarding was planned from the dock in front of the splendid Admiral Hotel located in the centre of Copenhagen, occupying an ancient market place just by the Royal Palace.

We arrived in Copenhagen the day before to visit the city with our friends, Marcus and Mia, who live in Gothenburg (Copenhagen’s neighbour city). We had dinner at a local restaurant where we had a chance to try smørrebrød, a kind of excellent Danish tapas,” recalls Olivier.

We boarded the Damrak II the next morning. I was very proud to see the admiring smile on my friends’ faces when they watched the yacht approaching from the channel in front of the Royal Palace. They are boat owners themselves, so their appreciation meant a lot to me,” says Olivier.

Damrak II is the second 70 Sunreef Power yacht owned by Olivier and Katia. They sold their first Damrak last year and bought the new one introducing some minor modifications to make it even better for chartering. “The shipyard has kept to production deadlines perfectly, so we can enjoy our yacht right now before the summer charter season starts,” explains Olivier. They decided to follow the route from Poland to the Mediterranean to make the maiden voyage to Scandinavia. “We couldn’t do this trip with our first boat because the weather forecast in Norway was a disaster,” recalls Olivier. Luckily this time the weather was predicted to be fantastic, and the travellers were impatient to begin their adventure.

After just five minutes of cruising, the first disappointment! No, it’s not about the Damrak; it’s just that Olivier’s illusion was shattered when he saw that the Copenhagen mermaid statue was much smaller that he imagined. “She is so tiny that we could hardly see her from the Damrak, passing only 30 meters away from her,” laughs Olivier.

Finally they could head towards the channel separating Denmark and Sweden. The Damrak cruised between the sea of wind turbines and the huge, magnificent bridge linking both countries.

For about an hour they tested the Damrak to find the most efficient cruising speed. The choice of the new engines (2 x 800HP Mann instead of 2 x 455HP Cummins on Damrak I) was the right one. “On Damrak I, the cruising speed was 10 knots with fuel consumption 22l/h per engine (44l/l in total). On Damrak II, even with slightly heavier engines, we reach 11 knots at 1350rpm keeping the same fuel consumption. With the 16 000L of fuel that the Damrak can store we can get a range of 4000 nautical miles at 11 knots, which is truly impressive. If we reduce the speed to 8 knots, the fuel consumption drops to 6l/h per engine (12l/h in total), which means a range of 10 500 nm, enough to cross the Pacific without stopovers… which I wouldn’t do anyway given the number of beautiful anchorages in Polynesia,” says Olivier.

The first call of their trip was scheduled for Maarstrand in Sweden where they wanted to arrive before dinner. Covering over 150 miles in 7 hours wasn’t a problem for the Damrak. At 85% of engine power, at 2100rpm, the boat easily reaches 21 knots. “Which other yacht could give me an oceanic range and a maximum speed of 25 knots ? Apart from a megayacht, and still, I don’t even know any other option than a Sunreef cat,” insists Olivier.

ARRIVING IN SWEDEN

After a pleasant crossing, the Damrak arrived in Maarstrand for its very first Swedish call. Established on the rocky island and dating back to the Middle Ages, this little village is a tourist’s delight with its colourful wooden houses from la Belle Époque. The area’s granite rocky cliffs make it reminiscent of cruising in Brittany in France.

It was very special to navigate the Damrak in this region where boats rarely exceed 40 feet in length. Navigation routes often include numerous straight channels only slightly larger than the Damrak. It felt strange passing all these typical Swedish houses and docks on the two islands so close to the Damrak,” says Olivier.

The next morning the Damrak left Maarstrand and its imposing fortress to arrive in Fiskebäckskil, a splendid picturesque village very popular among tourists, where Marcus and Mia own one a little red fisherman’s house.

As the marina is too small, the Damrak stayed out at anchor. Fiskebäckskil has a beautiful wooden church from the 18th century with colourful interiors and many hanging boat models. After a relaxing walk in the village, Olivier and his company decided to dine on the neighbouring island, Kärringön, at a traditional local restaurant called Petterssons. “Unless you check it on the map, you never know whether the land you see is a terra firma or an island. To be able to drive in this area you need to know all these complicated connections between bridges and ferries,” explains Olivier.

The next day the Damrak departed towards Smögen. To explore all the surrounding islands, the party embarked on Targa 44, Marcus and Mia’s boat, which allowed them to access the maze of channels and tiny islands.
Smögen is an island on Sweden’s west coast attracting many tourists thanks to its numerous leisure activities such as relaxing walks on the famous 600 m long pier with shops and bars serving delicious local cuisine, or resting on beautiful beaches perfect for swimming and sunbathing. All this is set in stunning, peaceful surroundings.
Smögen also has a renowned fish market where fishermen sell their fish straight from the sea. All the fish stands also sell delicious sandwiches or prawn salads. The prawns are already peeled and the salads are massive – a true bowl of freshness!
Back in Smögen, the party was getting ready for the big crossing awaiting them. They were about to depart to Stavanger in Norway. To do so, they needed to cross from Sweden towards western Norway for about 150 nautical miles and then to go along the Norwegian coast for a few hundred miles. To make sure they didn’t lose any precious moments of their tight schedule, they decided to do the trip by night at 20 knots. The anchor was up at 6 in the evening; the direction: westwards.
The sea is very calm. That’s even better, we’ll have a quiet, pleasant night. After a delicious dinner made by Shaz, we decide to watch films in the saloon. With engines on full power, the noise is almost imperceptible and we have no problems talking and watching TV,” says Olivier.
He continues, “After the film we went to the flybridge to enjoy night cruising, which is always an unforgettable experience, especially in these conditions. It stays light very late. Will the sun never go down? Total darkness only lasts about three hours”.
WELCOME TO NORWAY
The Damrak arrived at 6 the next morning. “A quick look out of the window and I realized we have arrived at our destination, and the Damrak was cruising along Stavanger docks plunged in fog,” recalls Olivier. Dating back to Viking times, Stavanger is a very busy commercial port with a base for large cruise ships going north and many petrol companies. The city was chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2008. It is situated by some of Norway’s most amazing fjords.
Leaving Stavanger behind, the Damrak explored long miles of famous Norwegian fjords before arriving at the beautiful Lysefjord. This stunning, 42 km long fjord meanders through 1 km high vertical rock faces. It’s one of the most picturesque sites in Norway, and comes recommended by National Geographic as one of the most beautiful places in the world. Lysefjord’s two main attractions are Preikestolen cliff and Kjerag mountain. Olivier, Katia and company enjoyed the hiking routes in the mountains among waterfalls, crystal clear streams and savage forests. It was a profound encounter with nature and a real delight for all of them.

Throughout the journey, Katia and Anna appreciated the stability and solid structure of the Damrak, a marvellous companion for exploration at all conditions in comfort and ease.

After her maiden voyage, the yacht left for southern Europe to start the Mediterranean charter season. But Olivier and his family are already longing for new yachting adventures...

To be continued.

SUNREEF SIGNS A NEW ORDER FOR A VERY LARGE CATAMARAN - SUNREEF 82 DD

Sunreef signs a new order for a very large double decker : the Sunreef 82 DD. This is a press release Sunreef Yachts.

Gdansk, Poland – Following the successful launch of two mega catamarans over 100 feet each in 2010, the Sunreef shipyard has been designated as a builder of an 82ft double decker sailing catamaran with the latest design, featuring sleek hulls and a streamlined deckhouse topped with a giant 35m2 flybridge inspired by large superyachts. The European client, impressed by the elegance and unrivalled spaciousness of the 102ft IPHARRA, selected Sunreef’s original Double Deck design.

“This sale was concluded thanks to Sunreef’s well-proven capability to build large custom yachts for demanding owners and according to the highest construction standards. The last few years of simultaneous construction of the two mega catamarans have given us invaluable experience that we will strive to improve with the Sunreef 82, our first superyacht built of composite materials,” explains Francis Lapp, Sunreef’s CEO.

The everlasting stylish look of the hull line is the result of Sunreef’s advanced design technologies and ongoing research into new solutions and inspirations. Sunreef's Naval Architecture Bureau is studying performance and sea capabilities using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) at its highest levels in collaboration with K-Epsilon and Rivoyre Ingenierie based in Sophia Antipolis, and applying Finite Element Analysis to structural calculations for the optimization of structural part

The Sunreef 82 DD has been designed with integrated stepped hull chines to increase interior space without compromising on performance. In the double deck concept there is one spacious owner cabin in the front, and a large and bright salon with an internal helm station with sea views. This private yacht will accommodate up to 7 guests in one beam-wide owner suite, one VIP queen cabin and one guest twin cabin convertible to a double cabin with an additional Pullman bed, attended by two crew to assist the owner, a sailor himself. The Sunreef 82 DD will feature the canoe type boom and carbon mast, Sunreef's in-house speciality
.

An innovative element aboard the Sunreef 82 DD is the smart mezzanine floor housing a coffee table within a lounge area located on the starboard side of the main deck within the dining area. There will also be a purpose-built storage area for painting equipment, as the owners enjoy this activity while sailing. This additional floor provides more space below decks for extended cabin or storage space. The main deck also includes a second lounge area and provides access to the crew hull on the port side and guest hull on the starboard side.

The owner suite, arranged over two floors, is set to occupy the entire forward section of the yacht with a master cabin, Jacuzzi and gym on the main deck, and wardrobe and floor-to-ceiling storage and bathroom located below decks in port and starboard hulls respectively. The right corner of the master cabin includes LED-lit Jacuzzi set on a two step platform, surrounded by an orchid jardinière, providing amazing sea views through beam-wide 180 degree panoramic windows. The treadmill, integrated within the floor, is positioned in the centre and a low Japanese-style king-size bed with two night tables occupies the left part of the suite.

Guest cabins are generously sized with three way access to a queen size bed with spectacular sea views through 6-part large windows, and have a separate bathroom and shower, spacious wardrobe, several lockers, a comprehensive entertainment system and air conditioning.

Interior design has been customised following the owners’ suggestions, and will combine light and natural colours and materials finished in a classic style.

The impressive 64 m2 cockpit holds a large dining table for up to 8 guests, sunbathing mats, wicker armchairs, a flower area, and storage for diving equipment. There is additional space for a tender and a jet ski hidden in a purpose-built locker under the main sun pad in the cockpit. The spacious flybridge is fitted with the main helm station, bar with barbecue and ice maker, large dining table and comfortable deckchairs, as well as a coffee table.

The Sunreef 82 DD superyacht will be built of light high-tech composite materials that the shipyard introduced to construction in 2007, and is scheduled for launch in June 2012. The yacht’s sail plan includes private use only by the owners and their party in the Caribbean and the US.

SUNREEF DELIVER ITS FIRST SUNREEF 62 IN CHINA TO BE EXHIBITED AT THE FAMOUS HAINAN RENDEZ VOUS

SUNREEF has set a footstep in China with the delivery of the 33 rd SUNREEF 62 to her Chinese owner.

Press Release

Launched in August 2010, the first Sunreef 62 Sailing (hull 33) was successfully delivered to her owner in Hong Kong two months later. The yacht, sold via Speedo Marine, Sunreef's exclusive broker for China, was exhibited at the Shenzhen International Boat Show (SIBEX) in November 2010, after which she cruised to her final destination - the Hainan Island. The owner chose a semi-owner modern layout with classic interior design – high gloss wood finish and stylish cream alcantara upholstery.

“We are very proud to have delivered our first yacht to China, a country with a strong buying potential, a fast growing interest for sailing and a recent fondness for safe, comfortable and customised multihulls. This sale comes as the result of a successful cooperation between Sunreef and Speedo Marine and will soon be followed by other deliveries,” says Maciej Stompor, Sunreef's Sales Director.

This private luxury catamaran can be admired again at the prestigious Hainan Rendezvous in April 2011.
