THE BLUE COAST 95’: AN AMBITIOUS CONSTRUCTION IN A RECORD TIME
LAUNCHING AT THE END OF THE SUMMER

La Ciotat, April 23 2010

The Blue Coast 95’, one of the biggest cruising catamarans in the world designed by Jean‐Jacques Coste, is still under construction in the workshop of H2X shipyard in La Ciotat. It has been a year now since the client, a long time interest for the charter‐brokerage‐management company Gaspard Yachts, chose H2X. The yacht will be launch at the end of the summer, a record‐time for a 28,80 m custom catamaran.

An ambitious construction process
The construction began in July 2009 with the modeling of the project by the H2X design and engineering department, and the construction of 2 hulls in composite. The hulls were assembled in December.Since the beginning of the year, partitions, systems and the floor have been laid. Fittings are currently under construction and the painting of the ship has begun. (Enjoy a quick look at the first images of the interior following this press release).

The composite department is currently adding on the roof via the “one‐shot” infusion process. This part has an area of 198m² and requires all the know‐how and the experience of H2X teams. The perfect management of the process will contribute to reaching the ambitious objective of a large ship construction in less than 18 months.

Efficient management of resources
This construction illustrates the H2X project expertise in management, which has been one of the decisive points in the choice of the shipyard: optimum coordination of different teams, very efficient forward planning tools, and personalized follow‐up of the client’s needs and questioning.
