After the successful
launch of the two catamaran-superyachts over 100 feet, CHE and
IPHARRA, in 2010, Sunreef Yachts keeps developing large projects with and
for its clients. Within the next two weeks the shipyard will launch the new
model, the Sunreef 82 Double Deck starting a series of
80ft composite superyachts. The next one to be launched is the Sunreef 80 Single Deck scheduled for March 2013. And
finally, the new project of an 85ft motoryacht catamaran, the 85 Sunreef Power, has just been developed by the
Sunreefs in-house design office and should be completed by the end of
2013.
Sunreef 82 Double Deck
The everlasting stylish look of the Sunreef 82 Double Deck is the result of
Sunreef’s advanced design technologies and ongoing research into new solutions
and inspirations. In the double deck concept there is one spacious owner cabin
in the front, and a large and bright salon with an internal helm station with
sea views. That is why this model is a perfect alternative to a traditional
motoryacht which consumes tremendous amounts of fuel. The Double Deck catamarans
have a chance to become superyachts of the future with their comfort on board
and low fuel consumption resulting from its low draft and the possibility of
cruising on sails in keeping with the maximum stability at all times.
This private yacht accommodates up to |
7 guests in one beam-wide owner suite, one VIP queen cabin and one
guest twin cabin convertible to a double cabin with an additional Pullman bed,
attended by two crew to assist the owner, a sailor himself.
An innovative element aboard the Sunreef 82 DD is the smart mezzanine floor housing a coffee table within a lounge area located on the starboard side of the main deck within the dining area. There is also a purpose-built storage area for painting equipment, as the owners enjoy this activity while sailing. The owner suite, arranged over two floors, is set to occupy the entire forward section of the yacht with a master cabin, Jacuzzi and vanity on the main deck, and wardrobe and floor-to-ceiling storage and bathroom located below decks in port and starboard hulls |
respectively. Guest cabins are generously sized with three way
access to a queen size bed with spectacular sea views through 6-part large
windows, and have a separate bathroom and shower, spacious wardrobe, several
lockers, a compre- hensive entertainment system and air conditioning. Interior
design has been customised following the owners’ suggestions, and combines light
and natural colours and materials finished in a classic style. The impressive 64
m2 cockpit holds a large dining table for up to 8 guests, sunbathing
mats, wicker arm- chairs, a flower area, and storage for diving equipment. The
spacious flybridge is fitted with the main helm station, bar with barbecue and
ice maker, large dining table and comfortable deckchairs, as well as a coffee
table.

Sunreef 80 Single Deck
The Sunreef 80 Single Deck is a dramatically different concept
than S82DD, based on light displacement, performance and speed. The
Sunreef 80 is intended for owners who wish to enjoy fast sailing adventures
without giving up the comfort and fully customized interiors. Commissioned by a
European owner, the Sunreef 80 will be made of an advanced composite sandwich
combining epoxy-vinylester resin, PVC foam, glass fibre with carbon
reinforcement for the hulls and carbon fibre for the deck and the
superstructure, with a carbon mast and boom, standing rigging with Kevlar
and
|
total sail area of 340 m2, weighing just 45T lightship
and 60T fully loaded. Sunreef’s engineering office produced a special weighing
platform that will register all additional weight of the boat. All systems will
also be optimized to minimize their weight. The sleek and sporty exterior line
was designed carefully to reduce windage and water resistance. The yacht is
designed to comfortably accommodate 9 guests and 4 crew. The portside hull will
comprise one guest cabin with a bathroom, a fully equipped galley and 4 crew
cabins. The starboard hull will feature one guest and one children’s cabin,
both
|
with private en-suite bathrooms, and the owner’s dressing room and
bathroom directly accessible from the master suite on the main deck. For the
first time on a Sunreef single deck catamaran, the owner suite (17m2)
will be located on the main deck. This means that the internal cockpit will
include the navigation station, dining area, lounge zone and the owner suite on
the front starboard. The interior design will represent a modern and minimalist
style based on white and grey with touches of a fresh blend of strong, modern
colours.

85 Sunreef Power NEW DESIGN 2013
After having introduced the very successful 70 Sunreef Power
in 2008, the company is now introducing a Brand New concept of a power
superyacht with the 85 Sunreef Power, being another milestone in the luxury
catamaran design. The main idea of the concept is to stress the superb space
that catamarans offer thanks to their large beam and to arrange this space in
the similar way as on motoryachts. This means one huge main deck spanning the
entire beam and housing dining and lounging areas, in both exterior aft deck and
inside the saloon that all together create a seamless, open space. The
generously sized master cabin is located
|
in the front on the same level. The flybridge will include helm
station and two lounging areas (inside and outside) while the frontal intimate
terrace on the main deck will comprise Jacuzzi and sun pads. Guest cabins with
private bathrooms and crew quarters with direct access to the galley and storage
will be located within the hulls. This space arrangement will certainly please
the very demanding motoryacht clientele that can now enjoy their favorite
motoryacht design and layout combined with catamaran advantages such as
stability, extended living and storage space, comfort of cruising, low draft,
low fuel consumption and oceanic range.
|
Design wise, the 85 Sunreef Power is a
modern looking, streamlined vessel with a curvy line that makes it look like a
truly sporty motoryacht. Interior design is meant to be light and minimalist
with modular furniture on the main deck and on the flybridge allowing many
configurations whereas the built-in furniture one will be installed only within
the hulls. On the aft, an interesting solution was found to create a beach club
platform, typical for motoryachts. This platform will allow guests to stay down
by the sea level at anchor and at lower speeds and will make easy accessing all
water toys and tender stored in the aft dinghy
garage.

The Sunreef 82 looks great, you can definitely see the similarities between that and a superyacht. It looks incredibly spacious for it's size too. It's a great alternative to buying a motoryacht! Looking forward to the launch of the next two, especially the new 85 Sunreef. You'd definitely notice one of these boats if they went past :)!
