ALCYON 125 - A NEW DESIGN BY PAUL RENAUD

Last year, I introduced the ALCYON 120, an elegant design by Paul Renaud. Paul just sent me this new design the ALCYON 125, a little bit longer but really innovative at deck and flybridge level.

I think this design is very much inspired by latest motor yachts trends. By that I mean it offers a lots of space and confort on the flybridge and a huge salon protected by slidding windows. This is very new for a catamaran since most of the time designers prefer to keep an open cockpit. On the flybridge you will find relaxing mattresses and a dining table protected from the wind by a large window which should enable the guests to enjoy eating while sailing. The helm stations are located on both sides, away from the guests and protected from the sun. Dinghy and toys are located at flybridge level with a crane to launch. Right below you will see a platform with windows to look at the sea.

A jacuzzi is at mast food with on both relaxing matresses while anchored.
The interior can be designed according to the need of the owner as private or charter version.

Paul Renaud is an expert in 3ds. He has worked for many industries.

The same in a different color, this show the importance of hull colour for a yacht.

ALCYON 120'

Let me introduce the Alcyon SC 120, a very sharp looking and spacious luxury megacatamaran. This catamaran offers really large relaxing and living spaces with a 80 m² "terrasse on the ocean", a 70 m² flybridge and 220m² of interior accomodations. Made in composite and carbon for performance the layout can be customized according to the client wishes.

If you look at the renderings of the interior layout the owner's suite (on Alcyon's website) is located on the platform with a magnificent view on the outside. It features a king size bed, a desk and a sofa, and a private access to a huge bathroom in the portside hull. Guests and crews all have independent access to their suites via the salon. The option of the galley down leaves a lot of space available in the salon for the guests intertainment.

Managed by Paul Renaud, ALCYON is a boat design studio located in the south of France near Saint Tropez. They have also designed a 50 foot power catamaran with a great look. They are very talented in producing virtual images really close to reality just have the look at the website, it is amazing. ALCYON can take in charge a complete project from defining the project to designing the boat and following up the construction.

The Alcyon 120 production will start by the end of the year in a shipyard yet undisclosed (the choice will be made in the month of October).
