Since 1985, there have been over 600 Privilege cruising catamarans launched in the world, with 80 units over 17 meters.  Built with enviable quality of construction and  un-equeled even today by others.

Always watching the market and listening to the owners…   Privilege Marine has moved back to the original site in Les Sables d’Olonne, the shipyard offers all facilities allowing the easy delivery of each catamaran and always in the best condition, thanks to :

JFA WILL INTRODUCE THE LONG ISLAND 100 AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW

ML POWER 70, A MODERN LOOK CATAMARAN BY MARC LOMBARD

Marc Lombard boasts a 25 years experience in yacht design with many multihulls to his credit.  His design team has created the ML POWER 70, a motor yacht design catamaran away from the traditional trawler look. 

The ML Power 70' is a fast cruising catamaran (20/25 knots) actually being developed by the design office. The characteristics of this project may slightly change over time. A few shipyards are strongly interested in this project. 

The hulls will be built either by composite infusion, or in Aluminium (Alustar or Sealium), or in wood/epoxy, the Marc Lombard design having a great experience in this field. The superstructures will be in infused composite.

The exterior design is simple and innovative with as many integrated elements and refined materials as possible:

• carbon handrail all aroung the yacht and on the flybdrige
• fully integrated teak deck : transom, cockpit, foredeck and flybridge
• "aerial" stairs to the flybridge (teak and carbon)
• high quality sliding windows to the salon
• integrated waterproof lateral doors
• contemporary interior and exterior furniture design made in wood sandwich to increase performance
• many comfort equipments (ac, top of the range sound system, ambiance lighting, wifi...)

Two versions are offered : "cruiser" (3 guests and 1 owner cabin, 4 crew members) and "lounge" specially designed for Asian clients wishing to buy a reception only yacht.

The ML POWER 70 is powered either with a shaft (2 x 620 hp up to 2 x 900 hp), or with a Volvo  900 hp IPS  (2 x 900 hp) with a maximum speed of 25 knots.

NEW WEBSITE FOR JFA YACHTS

JFA Yachts has recently launched a new, updated website showing its know-how in terms of building and refitting very large luxury catamarans.

 This website clearly shows three things : 

• The experience of JFA in building large luxury catamarans like : Sun Teneraze 85 feet (now Rose of Jericho), VPLP 110 (to be launched this year),  the Long Island 85 (currently build)
• The experience in refitting large catamarans : Mashua Bluu 95 feet.
• A strong positionning on the large custom and semi-custom luxury catamaran market with a new shed specially dedicated to large catamaran with a maximum beam of 17 meters.

JFA LONG ISLAND 85 LUXURY CATAMARAN

JFA has positioned itself in the semi-custom catamaran market.

The architect Marc Lombard and JFA Yachts have developed a new concept for long crossing catamarans. Catamaran, for semicustom construction. The first order was recently signed.. The office of Marc Lombard has put all of their 25 years of experience with cruising and racing catamarans into this new 85’. The firm is also responsible for the interior design. By her size and her freeboard, this catamaran is designed to sail far and in the greatest comfort. The hulls and the bottom of the nacelle will be made of aluminum while the deck and superstructures will be made of composite. The desired goal is to build a multi-hull with its weight adapted to its navigation program. This catamaran proposes an innovative interior for her size: one owners cabin with a panoramic view forward in the nacelle and direct access to the trampoline. The interior saloon offers a 360° view and is equipped with an inside helm station, living area and bar. In the starboard hull there is one guest cabin, a large office and the owners bathroom. In the port hull there is a second guest cabin, the galley and 2 crew cabins. As shown here in the 3D illustrations, the outside areas are vast. The technical installations are concentrated in the engine room. The yacht will be equipped with a large tender (15’8”). A choice of layout options will be available for the Long Island 85’.

THE 6 TH PRIVILEGE 745 IS LAUNCHED

The 6 th Privilege 745 was launched in April.
The first Privilege 745 was launched in 2006 since then 5 other units have been launched and are sailing around the world and two more are being built in the new shipyard in Lanester (France). PRIVILEGE 1000 NEW WEBSITE AND BROCHURE ONLINE

Alliaura Marine, the builder of the Privilége range has launched a new website. The brochure of the Privilége 1000 is on-line.

The Privilège 1000 is actually being built in Lorient at the new Alliaura yacht. You will find in Alliaura's new website a gallery of 3D's of this huge and beautiful multihull. Also you will be able to download her brochure.

I already introduce this luxury catamaran in the blog. Two different layout are available one with a very large owner suite and two guests suites, and a second one with 5 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

FAST CAT 80, STEPHANE DELLA CONSULTING

Let me introduce to you the Fast CAt 80, an 80 footer developed by Stephane Della for a private customer with drawings from Marc Lombard and a design by Franck Darnet.

This is one of the new luxury catamarans designs you will find in the December Issue of Multihulls World which is reviewing all the cats on the market and for which I wrote the large catamaran section.

Stephane Della is a yacht consultant who worked on such large catamaran project as the Nahema 120, the refit of Magic Cat, on large sailing and motor yachts refit projects as well as for America's cup race teams (Alinghy and Areva). Marc Lombard has applied to the Fast Cat 80 the latest developments used for racing catamarans in terms of hulls and appendices shapes as well as a very light displacement. PRIVILEGE 1000

Privilege is celebrating its 25 th birthday and entering the world of very large catamaran builder with the PRIVILEGE 1000.

Privilege has been working for 25 years with the naval architect Marc Lombard. The last 10 year the brand has launched more than 50 units other 18 meters such as the Privilége 745. The production is moving progressively into a new shipyard in Lanester, close to Lorient where the Privilége 1000 will be build. The molds are being produced by Marsaudon Composite, a company highly specialized in building molds, racing multihulls like IDHEC, and composite components.

The Privilege 1000 will offer a huge owner suite (a specialty of the yard) at mast foot and the interior will fully be customizable with different essences of wood and type of fabrics. The design is from Exalto, contemporary and practical. Outside the living space is huge and Marc Lombard with the yard have done their best to multiply the number of private spaces.

The Privilege 1000 is scheduled to be launched in 2011.

CANNES BOAT SHOW SPECIAL

The sun is now shining in France, even in Brittany, and we are getting close to September and the Cannes and Monaco Boat Shows. I did a quick check at the Festival International de la Plaisance de Cannes website to see what you will find in terms of luxury catamarans. The list of exhibitors is very short, I hope it has not been updated, I will do a check in August to complete this post.

CATLANTECH

Catlantech will introduce the CATLANTE 600, a 60 foot catamaran, built by the Catlantech shipyard in Lorient (France). The interesting, yet I am wondering how they are doing that, feature of the CATLANTE 600 is that they offer 9 different version, from charter to owner, both sail and motor trawler type.




WINDPEARL YACHTS

First time I hear of this company located in Paris. They are the builders of luxury sailing yachts including a FastCat 60 designed by Marc Lombard. I couldn't access their website so I found more information on Marc Lombard's website. I hope I am writing about the same cats. If you know more let me know.



VPLP

Of course the world most famous multihull designer office will be at the show to present I guess many of their design including the VPLP 110 being actually built at the JFA shipyard.



NOAH ALUMARINE

Alumarine, the builder of the largest sailing catamaran Douce France will introduce the NOAH range of motor trawler catamaran with their amazing design. The shipyard will introduce three different sizes a 69, a 76 and an 88. I really like the design of these elegant catamarans. I already wrote a post about the range if you want to see more details.

SUNREEF YACHTS

Of course SUNREEF will there again and strong with three units afloat : the last SUNREEF 70 POWER "SEA BASS", the SUNREEF 70 sailing "SEAZEN II" and the SUNREEF 62 "TAHAA II" with an extravagant design.
At this occasion SUNREEF YACHTS which enlarges its activities and is actually building new production facilities will introduce a new range of monohulls motor yachts the Blue Reef Yachts and a new in house section CYS International dedicated to building one off projects from external designers and clients.

PRIVILEGE 945 - FIRST RENDERINGS

Privilege is moving slowly towards the large luxury catamaran market with their new design of the Privilege 955.

As usual little information is available about this new design. All we know is that the boat will be built in the new Alliaura Marine yard in Lanester close to Lorient (Brittany France), where a composite department is being built and where all the cabinet making will be located. The headquarters will be moving to Saint Pavace during the Summer.

Looking at the renderings and if the philosophy remains the same this new Privilege will provide a lot of interior space and I guess a huge owner's suite.

I look forward to see more renderings and some interiors design pieces.

PRIVILEGE 745 - THIRD UNIT

The Privilege shipyard in France has just finished its third PRIVILEGE 745. This is the largest catamaran built by this shipyard. The architect Marc Lombard said he designed a very stable boat that could satisfy both sail and motor yachts fans. She can average 15 knots sailing and 12 knots motoring. She is built in vacuum bagged sandwich composite.

Featuring states of the art electronic equipment including a central digital control panel to manage most of the function such as the A/C, the batteries, the fuel and water level in the tanks... The interior available in different wood finishes, was designed by Dierdre Design a multi-awarded Design company. There is a lot of room inside with as usual an impressive owner suite in the rostrum, with its own bath tub, the Privilege signature . All guests state rooms have true walk-around berths. Quite a success for the shipyard with this third large unit .
