THE SUNREEF 114 "CHE" IS IN THE WATER

The largest SUNREEF ever, the Sunreef 114 was launched on the 19 th of July at the yard in Gdansk.

A big first Semester for Sunreef Yachts with the launchings of two very large luxury catamarans : "Ipharra" the Sunreef 102 DD and now the new "Che", 114 feet of luxury and sailing pleasures. "Che" can welcome 7 guests for 5 crew members, they will all have a lot of space to live aboard. This huge catamaran will be finished at the yard and will set sails for the Caribbean this winter. Sunreef Yachts will be present at the Cannes and Monaco Yacht Show.

Sunreef Yachts to unveil its first superyacht, the Sunreef 102 Double Deck IPHARRA and other news projects, at the Cannes International Boat Show 2010

SUNREEF 102 DOUBLE DECK IPHARRA

Sunreef Yachts is delighted to confirm that this year's edition of the Cannes International Boat Show held from 8 to 13 September 2010 will see the worldwide premiere of the Sunreef 102 Double Deck IPHARRA – the first double deck sailing catamaran in the world. She is also the second biggest sloop rigged catamaran of the world.

The double deck concept was created especially for clients wanting to achieve extreme comfort with maximum space on deck. The characteristic feature of each Sunreef double decker is the additional, full-beam cabin in the front, with the panoramic view to the sea obtained thanks to the mast fitted on the enlarged flybridge.

Commissioned in 2008 and launched in April 2010 IPHARRA, is a luxury a charter superyacht available for charters in the Caribbean this winter. For this purposes, the yacht will accommodate up to 12 guests and 4/5 crew.

According to the Sunreef philosophy, the interior design and layout arrangement have been totally submitted to the owner's suggestions who wished to obtain a practical vessel with many storage places ensuring the highest level of navigation autonomy. The huge outdoor space represents an important area of the yacht. Passengers have a choice of staying in the shade of the 50m2 cockpit or can enjoy sunbathing on the 50m² flybridge and bow nets. In the cockpit, there is a long sofa and table to ensure comfortable alfresco dining and relaxing moments for 10-12 guests. In the evening, a “starry sky” effect will be ensured thanks to the colourful yet discrete LED lights in the ceiling. The fly is supplied with a fully equipped bar and dining area for twelve people along with deck chairs to relax while sunbathing.

70 SUNREEF POWER DAMRAK

DAMRAK was introduced to the world during last year's edition of the show as an example of the 70 Sunreef Power. Launched in 2008, the 70 Sunreef Power is the first motor yacht from the Sunreef power range. The yacht's elegant topside, extended interior and exterior space along with its stability, safety, long cruising range with low fuel consumption maintained makes it an ideal vessel for charters, luxury private holidays or long-term travels around the world. With its totally customized design and finish according to the Client's wishes, this yacht model can be made in Exclusive version featuring a Jacuzzi and second navigation station on the fly, powerful engines, rich and modern interior design, state-of-the-art electronics on board and many other fancy gadgets. For Clients wanting to perform long travels aboard their yachts and discover the world's most remote and wild places, the 70 Sunreef Power can be converted into an Expedition yacht with underwater bulbs, green features such as solar panels or wind generators, without losing anything of its luxurious and customized finish. NEW YACHT MODELS FOR 2011

• Sunreef 80 Ultimate – new range of sporty and high-performance cats

In 2010 Sunreef Yachts has introduced a sophisticated design line of ultra-modern and high-performance sailing catamarans with green appliances a magnificent example of which is the Sunreef 80 ULTIMATE. The Sunreef 80 Ultimate carbon fibre yacht has thin and sleek marine hulls with reversed bow and integrated stepped hull chins which is essential for the yacht's high performance. The superstructure will be shorter and more minimalist than on a conventional leisure catamaran which will add to the boat's lightness and streamlined look. The flybridge is an option here as the height of the boat decides on the level of air resistance. Both hulls and entire forward section of the superstructure will be covered by glass panels which will make this vessel luminous and provide the guests with breathtaking and delightful views. An alternative option for the hull are solar panels providing the yacht with natural solar energy that can be connected to the water heating system. Two vertical retractable wind generators will be installed on each hull as well. The mast will be moved back to the middle of the boat which will contributes to achieving the most optimal balance, thus giving the ultimate navigation comfort. The sail plan is adequately calculated to reach the top speeds of 20 + knots. Internal space will depend on the Client's preferences, according to the “custom finish philosophy” at Sunreef. Two options are possible: leaving the saloon as an open, undivided space, or accommodating it with the galley, dinning and lounge. In both scenarios, the owner suite will be located on the main level in the forward section. It will have a stunning, uncovered view over the sea through the vast glass wall and sliding doors giving access to the private outdoor loggia with spa pool, bar and lounge. IPHARRA, the largest Sunreef yet launched is now available to charter through Sunreef Charter.

This huge luxury catamaran, launched in April 2010, can host 12 guests in 5 cabins with a crew of 4. She is the largest double deck luxury catamaran in the world. She is offered at a rate of 55 000 Euro a week. From July to late Autumn IPHARRA will be sailing in the med and will attend the Cannes Boat Show. Then she will set sail to the Caribbean for this winter chartering season.

The cockpit and the flybridge of IPHARRA each feature a 50 m² surface. They both can host a 12 guests diner "al fresco". The salon is huge and take the full beam. The owner suite is on the main deck with a great view on the sea.

IPHARRA SUNREEF 102 DOUBLE DECK IS LAUNCHED - GREAT VIDEO

I told you this was the year of the big launches. While I was away in Lorient at the Multihull Show, Sunreef Yachts launched its largest luxury catamaran to date, IPHARRA, the world largest double-decker with 102 feet.

The video of the launching is available on Sunreef website and it is amazing. As usual Sunreef has invested in its communication tools and it pays. Congratulation to the camera man and the editor. I have to admit the yacht looks really good from the outside, congratulations to Sunreef design team. IPHARRA will be delivered to her owner mid-may and then will sail to the Med for charter.

4 YEARS ANNIVERSARY STILL GROWING STRONG

Today, the luxury catamaran blog is blowing 4 candles.
2010 the year of the big launches.

What amazes me with my blog is that the number of connections is still growing. Here is the chart for the last 4 years.

Thanks to all of you readers.
It has been quite hard the latest weeks to keep up with the blog for two reasons :

• first, I am really busy with my PR activity
  
• second, the information is harder and harder to find. New projects are less numerous than last year for example.
  

So please if you are in the industry, do not hesitate to send me your information.

This is paradoxical since this year will be the very big luxury catamaran year with the launching of 9 super catamarans over 90 feet :

- HEMISPHERE, the 145 VPLP built at Derecktor and finished at Pendennis.
- PROUT PT 138, a huge trimaran built in composite in China.
- SUNREEF 114, the largest Sunreef built in Aluminium at the yard in Poland for the previous owner of the Sunreef 74 "CHE".
- SUNREEF 102 DD, a big year for the yard, which was scheduled to be launched in a couple of days, can't wait to see the pictures.
- VPLP 110, built at the JFA shipard in France on America's Cup Winner VPLP drawings.
- BLUE COAST 95, designed by Jean Jacques Coste and built by H2X for Megacatamaran due to be launched this summer and exhibited at the Cannes Boat Show.
- GUNBOAT 90, built in South Africa by Gunboat and designed by Morelli and Melvin
- YOUNG 90, built in Tunisia and actually being finished in Italy designed by Greg Young.

THE SUNREEF 102 DD AND SUNREEF 114 ARE WELL ADVANCED, THE SUNREEF 70 DAMRAK AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW

This it the 200 th post on the luxurycatamaran blog and it is dedicated to an update on SUNREEF activity. I have no business links with the yard but It happen to be that first they are very active in promoting their activity and they have a lot of news to publish and second I think that Ewa their PR manager is doing a great job and has always been helpful with me and editors of magazinestrying to gather information for their publications. It is always a great pleasure and it makes our job more fun and easier when PR managers answer fast and precisely to our inquiries. I look forward to meet with her again in Cannes and visit the SUNREEF lives. I will post my own pictures after the show.

SUNREEF 102 DD

The first superyacht to be launched by Sunreef is on the last stage of the construction process. All interiors are now being finished and fitted out, the majority of the furniture is already in place and the electrical systems and the plumbery have now been installed. The hulls will shortly be painted in a light grey colour. This week, the installation of the propulsion system in both engine rooms will start, followed by the installation of twin Cummins engines. The launch is scheduled for the end of September 2009, after which the carbon mast and boom will be set up on the superstructure.

SUNREEF 114

The entire aluminium superstructure has already been finished and straightened. The installation of all technical systems below decks is now in due course and the flooring is now being posed. The installation of the sound and thermal insulation of all cabins is now proceeding and the fairing of the hulls has already started. Simultaneously, all the furniture is being assembled in the in-house carpentry department and waiting to be fitted. The carbon bowsprit, cross beam and boom are now being fabricated in-house via the vacuum infusion process and the 43 meter carbon mast is now being finished.

SUNREEF 70 DAMRAK IN MONACO

Damrak is a custom-made 5-cabin luxury catamaran for 8 - 12 guests. The impressive full-beam master cabin with over 180-degree view through the bow-facing windows, includes a large en-suite bathroom with separate shower in one hull and dressing room in the other. There are also generous-sized 2 queen cabins, and 1 twin cabin - convertible into queen - all with en-suite bathrooms. The salon with galley, equipped with high-end Bose home cinema and 40' plasma screen, with large dining table is the perfect place for entertaining guests and enjoying all yachts luxuries. The full-beam enormous flybridge shaded by the bimini includes jacuzzi flanked with sunbeds, bar and a large dining table. The Damrak's interior is a great example of a modern, elegant and clean style with wenge veneer furniture and light-beige alcantara upholstery. To top it all off, the many portlights and hatches make her a very lucid and well-ventilated vessel. The recreation equipment includes jet tender with 125 hp engine, 2 Seabob underwater scooters and full diving equipment, making her the perfect charter luxury catamaran. Damrak is available in the West Mediterranean this summer and in the Caribbean this winter season through Sunreef Yachts Charter.

SUNREEF 102 DD - LIFTED OVER THE WATER TO FINISH WORKSHOP

"One of the biggest luxury cruising catamarans in the world, which is currently being constructed in the Sunreef shipyard, has come to the next stage of building. The 40 ton aluminum construction has been transported by a water crane to another hall, where the welding works and final straightening of the hulls will be finished. The next step will be: fitting the interior and start of fairing the hull.

LUXURY CATAMARAN - MEGA CATAMARAN SHORT NEWS

SUNREEF 102 and SUNREEF 104

The production of those two mega cats is going along well. The hulls, the deck and the flybridge of the SUNREEF 102 have been fitted together. Now we start to guess what this spacious and confortable SUNREEF will look like. The carpenters have started to work on the interior fittings and the yacht should be launched second half of 2009. The SUNREEF 114 structure is beeing built upside down and will be flipped over by February 2009 for a launching I guess in 2010. A third mega sunreef is actually being negociated by the shipyard.


BLUBAY 95


Yachts Industries which is going through hard times has launched the last BLUBAY a 95 footer on the 25 th of November. The dark blue hull looks really nice. I look forward to see this new BLUBAY sailing.

YAPLUKA 85 DD Apparenlty the production of the first DD still goes on and this unit is schedule to be launched next summer.

Sunreef Yachts, luxury catamarans designer, constructor and charter agency, is ready for the new boat show session 2008/09.

The shipyard is delighted to announce its participation at the Paris Boat Show held between 6-15 December 2008.

Sunreef Yachts, specialized in the construction of sailing catamarans, yet now launching a new power range introduces into the market the recently launched sailing yacht, the Sunreef 70 in both Classic and Japanese designs and its first ever-built motor yacht, the 70 SUNREEF POWER.

Sunreef Yachts is now ready to satisfy both sail and motor yacht markets and soon will enter the superyacht domain with its new superyachts, the Sunreef 102 DD and the Sunreef 114.

The coming year 2009 will certainly mark a new stage in the history of this dynamic and ambitious yard with the launching of the first superyacht, the Sunreef 102 DD, scheduled for Spring 2009.

70 SUNREEF POWER - JAMBO – FIRST POWER YACHT BY SUNREEF

Aboard the 70 Sunreef Power you will be enjoying exceptional living spaces of over 500 square feet, as well as giant fly-bridge – SUNREEF band's speciality. The fly-bridge features the main helm station, sun-bathing mattresses and dining table surrounded by comfortable seating. On the aft deck You will have enough room for jet ski. On the main deck a spacious, external cockpit of 320 square feet will let you relax while being pleasantly sheltered from the sun.
The first 70' Sunreef Power was ordered specifically for a family voyage around the world; therefore a very distinctive feature would be her fantastic range of 8000 nautical miles while sailing at 8 knots driven by twin Volvo Penta 370 HP engines. There were also some innovative changes made regarding the fly bridge, where, by special request of the client, all furniture is easy to dismantle in order to create a playing area for children on this huge upper deck.
As for interior, the furniture will be made of finnish birch and the upholstery of beige skai, which will create all together very light and harmonious venue. Modern design with some classic elements will be applied.
Inside the 70 Sunreef Power you will discover comfortable saloon of modern design that creates a harmonious atmosphere. The lounge has an elegant bar with a staircase leading to the galley and guest cabins within the hulls, and also to the second helm station located on the mezzanine floor. From here you access the owners’ cabin (owner version), or two guest cabins (semi-owner or charter version). These cabins are situated in the forward section of the catamaran and thus offer wonderful sea views.

SUNREEF 70 SEAZEN II – FIRST SAILING 70 FOOTER BY SUNREEF

Exceptionally spacious and wide, with new layout arrangement, this modern catamaran can easily accommodate 8 to 10 guests in 3 double cabins and 1 cabin with innovative four folding beds system - excellent solution for children.
The exterior outlines have been carefully worked out by Sunreef in-house design team in order to make the yacht look smooth and elegant. The boat is very aerodynamic and her external forms are highly streamlined. The outdoor playing space has been purpose-designed for charter activities. The yacht can easily accomodate a jacuzzi on the flybridge and has enough space to fit a jet ski on the aft. This unit in particular will have two dinghies, the smaller one of 2.8 m and a bigger one of 4.5m.
Especially requested by the Owner, the yacht will represent Japanese style, the essential aspect of which is the simplicity and minimalism. Frugal forms are kept in brown and cream with touches of muffled red. Visible structural geometry is achieved by the combination of the traditional layout of Tatami mats and decorative elements imitating indigenous Shoji screens and sliding doors. The overall scheme is accentuated by the horizontal line of arranging the furniture: low-level tables and bar, surrounded by separate sitting cushions placed in wooden frames, platform-like simple beds. Sparse and carefully selected decorations greatly replenish this posh, yet minimalistic interior.

SUNREEF 102 DOUBLE DECK – First superyacht by Sunreef

Designed by Sunreef’s inhouse design team the sloop-rigged yacht is the largest catamaran manufactured by Sunreef Shipyard and will be one of the few in the world of that size.
The yacht’s interior design will be fully customised in close cooperation between the european owner and the Sunreef team who has requested that she be ‘‘cosy, comfortable and homey’’, dominated by contrasting dark and light wenge and anegre wood and a classic Sunreef touch.
The interior style of Sunreef 102 will mostly modern with some classic elements of decoration. There are two types of wood used for the cabines – the dark WENGE wood and the light ANEGRE. This blend of colours creates a strong contrast dark/light and allows the Sunreef Design Team to highlight the geometric composition of the furnitures. Trapezoid, square and cube forms are easily reckognizable in the main outlines (furniture, wall shapes, windows, doors, etc.) and in many decoration details such us handles, lamps, table legs, etc.
The original upholstery of Skai Elitis will guarantee the effect of chests board and will certainly be an interesting feature on board.
Generally, beside the wenge and anegre wood, the different types of skai will be applied on the walls and ceiling, all in beige, ivory and cream colours which will create the ambience of harmony and balance of this carefully designed interiors. The main lighting system will consist of a set of fitted on each side halogens reflecting from matt surfaces and only few of them will be installed directly on the ceiling.
The innovative element will certainly be a double deck, the original Sunreef concept, ensuring much more comfort and space for the guests.

SUNREEF 102 DD - TAKING SHAPE

Sunreef 102 Double Deck takes shape!

The first superyacht designed by Sunreef Yachts is currenly under construction in the shipyard. At this time, all bulkheads and frames previously set up are being welded to main deck superstructure, which imposing size is clearly visible at the picture. A for the hulls, they are being built upside down on technological foundation, thus as soon as the frames are welded, the prefabricated shell plates will be fixed up. The construction shall be completed by the Summer 09.

SUNREEF 62 - 15 UNITS LAUNCHED

I just browsed again through SUNREEF website's (a very ergonomic and informative website) launched page . SUNREEF has launched 15 SUNREEF 62 catamarans, one SUNREEF 60 monohull, one SUNREEF 74 catamaran (the largest launched so far until the SUNREEF 102 DD is launched in 2009). This shows the success of the shipyard and specially of the 62 foot serie.

If you have a look at each one of the 62s you will notice that even if they feature quite standard hull and layout options, they really have very different interior design going from classic with MISTER T to modern with MOONSTONE, minimalist with DEPENDE IV (check the video on line) and quite suprising with TRIGGER. Hulls color are also quite customized and innovative. SUNREEF hosts its own design departement and can work together with the owners' designer. All the 62s have been launched between the 17 th of may 2005 and 16 of October 2007 with 6 this year: quite an impressive score. SUNREEF's team made the right choice to bet on the 62 foot size. All the 62s are in composite (expect the first MISTER T in aluminium) and the last one, HERENUI is the first being built using an infusion process. Luckily most of the 62s are available through SUNREEF charter which is a good way to try a boat before buying a new one. SUNREEF is a very active, strongly developing shipyard with an efficient marketing and PR strategy. They've well understood that in order to attract new customers they had to have a comprehensive offer of service such as charter, used boats and yacht management services and communicate efficiently on their specificites. More to come soon in 2008 with a SUNREEF 67 POWER and a SUNREEF 67 (sailing) and for 2009 with the launching of the mega sailing catamaran SUNREEF 102 DOUBLE DECK.

I just received this news from Ewa Stachurska, the PR manager at SUNREEF shipyard in Gdansk, Poland. The shipyard has signed a contract with a client from Switzerland to build the first SUNREEF 102 double deck. ‘‘We are very excited by the interest in this model, it’s certainly the only double deck, an innovative Sunreef idea,’’ says Nicolas Lapp, the Vice President of Sunreef, ‘‘It is really quite revolutionary in the superyacht world.’. This prestigious unit will be launched beggining 2009 and will be one of the largest sailing catamaran at that time. There is actually a real trend toward bigger and bigger mega catamarans above 100 feet. Actually sailing are DOUCE FRANCE and LADY BARBARETTA, and in built are the NAHEMA 120 , the GEMINI 145 (Derektor shipyard) and the HH 100 (Alumarine). Built in aluminium, the SUNREEF 102 will be the first with a Double Deck.
